Should I wish to eBay the collectible vinyl, I have found where to get record mailers: eBay, of course. As one of the world's primary incentives to ship atoms around the world, of course it contains all the means to do so. I bet there's packing there for anything you can think of.

[livejournal.com profile] jozafeen tips me to vinyltap.co.uk to dispose of a collection. We shall see.

I just don't have a feel for what's collectible any more, having long since abandoned the wish to own more bloody atoms. I only had any idea back in the days when it was only possible to get the musical information on oversized physical objects with excessive packaging. It was never about the object, beautiful as some of them are — a beautiful production without the music is worthless. It's the music. Always the music.

That said, I don't want to give up almost any of my books. Even though I never read them and find it weird to read a physical book now instead of a PDF on the netbook. I have here Why Does E=mc2? by Brian Cox and someone not famous, which [personal profile] arkady gave me for Christmas. I've got hardly any way into it in a month and a half. If I had a PDF I'd have finished it by now.

I'm finding that listening to my music and reading my books on a netbook off a 1.5 terabyte hard disk attached to a household server is just fine. That and a nice couch and a nice bed appears to be a lifestyle. Good.
