Tonight, [livejournal.com profile] redcountess, [livejournal.com profile] arkady and myself plan to hit B-Movie. We aim to get there early and will probably leave by midnight. We have a shitload of stuff to do tomorrow, but a night out is medically required. I will not be dressed up as all my nice clothes are back in the flat (taking on the musty smell) and I weigh 5kg too much to do the mesh top. Meh! So who else is out tonight at B-Movie early on?

My phone (a Siemens S35) verily doth suck. The battery's pretty much dead, but the phone sucks too much to spend money on. Please advise me what phones do SMS return receipts that are switched on by default (unlike, e.g., Liz's Motorola V525, which does receipts but needs them set each message). The automatic return receipt thing is the Killer Feature that's made me keep this thing.

I should be at B-Movie fairly early, with my cousin Annemeike.

My Siemens phones (S35, S35i, S55, SL55) all could do that. They all suck in various other ways, though.

My Ericsson R320s does receipts.

Not sure currently what I'm going to wear. No, I'm not going to wear the shorts. They're actually bloody uncomfortable and I'm fed up of them. Might not bother with the theme at all. I rather fancy wearing a corset.

Oh. Apparently Emily is going to be there as well, despite her avowed decision never to return....

I never bother with the costume either.
I, however, am not going to wear a corset. This should merely encourage you to :)

I stayed in bed until 10 and am still bimbling about - really don't want to move off the couch, but I have to pick up my tops and script :-/

Every Nokia I've purchased has had a global configuration option for SMS return receipt enable.

That's funny - because there's no such option on my 8310.

On the 6310i sat right in front of me this very second:
[menukey] Messages - Message Settings - Sending Profile - Delivery Reports, set to "Yes". My phone then proceeds to tell me as and when my messages actually get delivered (or fail to be delivered).
Unless I'm totally misunderstanding what David's after, of course.
This feature was also present on my 3310.
I admit to extrapolating as far as my 5110 goes, but I stopped using that phone three years ago, and I hardly ever touched SMS back then.

Ah, I had a 3110 and then a 3210. I then wanted a camera phone, and the Nokia camera phone is too clunky.

Nokia 6310i does receipts, and is in general a nice no-frills phone with adequate address book and message storage space.

If you've turned it on, it does it automatically for every message.

My nokia 6230 does that as well. And it takes dodgy pictures, I like.

I don't think that had come out when I got my Motorola V525, darn! I wants it!

Having to ask for the things each time you send a message doesn't count as 'doing receipts' to my mind. What kind of moronic half-feature is that?!

You toggle whether or not you want to receive them, and it holds state until you toggle it the other way.

I did have trouble with BT Cellnet (whatever they're called now) who insisted that I should be receiving the things when I wasn't, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the phone's fault. It works fine on Orange.

Hmm. I may still have a battery for that phone, if you want me to take a look for a short-term solution?

I kept it for a while for the same reason, before going to an S55

My Ericsson T610 does that. But it sucks in other ways, so I'd avoid it, if I were you.

I could say I'll bring my riding crop, but that still wouldn't be answering the question, would it?

Anyway, whilst there are guys out there who doubtless would enjoy having their nipples tweaked painfully, David's not one of them - so both of us would be rather unhappy were there to be a repeat performance of last time.

My cutesy cuddly new toy, a Motorola MPX200 does SMS receipts. I'm not too sure, but I think it can be set globablly.

Oh, and I'll be at B-Movie early tonight.. but probably only to flyer! :(

Yeah, we're suckers

We'll be hitting b-movie as early as is reasonably practical given that t works until 7. As we have no dressing up clothes, that just means he has to get home, maybe not even change or just change t shirts, snarf down some food and then we head out via two buses.

I'll be spending the next few hours doing my hair. Not!

I have an alcatel 765 which I can set to do receipts on both sms and mms thingies.
also does pics and movies etc
was (or is) a fairly cheap phone as it came with the plan (ie didn't have to pay extra) don't know what the retail is though
