The agent just called: as of Saturday morning, we have a house. FUCKIN' W00T.

Today the electrician is at the old flat making it safe to switch the power on, tomorrow we pack stuff (with heat and lighting), Saturday we move stuff, Sunday we move stuff and tidy up after ourselves, Monday I think I'll relax by breaking concrete blocks over my head or something. [livejournal.com profile] redcountess is calling the utilities today. [livejournal.com profile] arkady will be greatly cheered to have her flat and bed back!

This time we want a housewarming before we actually move out.

How many great earworms are you going to give me today? :)

Congratulations.

Confirmed.
My internal combustion-powered Tardis and myself will attend on Saturday.
Will bring rope for attaching mattress to roof and we'll work on seeing it will fit inside.

The garden still needs to be tamed, if you're still up for helping with that. While I think the agent is going to go easy on us with the inspection because of the water damage, I think he would still like us to make some sort of effort. I could ask Nicolai to pick you and the garden tools up on the way.

There's pintage in it for any helpers. Did we mention we're only just down the road from the Bell? :-)

What, the garden of the old flat? Pfeh. If you had a slightly lower electrical resistance, you could have been dead because of that house. Enough being their free gardening service.

Although if you really want it done, I'll help. Am good at gardens.

Yes, but realistically, the agent can withold part of our deposit if the garden and parts of the flat that weren't water damaged were not vacated in a tidy condition, and I really don't want to have to go to court or to spend a lot of time fighting it, especially as we've had to extend our overdraft to find somewhere else, and need that deposit back.

Basically, the terms of the lease have not been negated by the flood, it's just being ended.

Bah. In that case let me see what I'm doing on Saturday night, and if I wake up in London on Sunday, I will come and help.

Need anyone to stand in the way looking confused? I'm not too bad at that.
(Or make runs to the shop for milk and tea. I know where the shop is)

If we could also borrow your kettle for the day that would be good, as I think ours died in the flood - I know our toaster did :-/

ALL THE BEST you guys! We are moving too this weekend so here goes. Let's hope we don't have to move for a while again. Moving is so painful.
