Just back from Rathaus. Paged twice. The laptop did not attract flylike swarms of sxxy deth chyx; I expect this crowd is too trad. I'm sure it'll be much more effective at Slimelight. (Not that I have any plans to test this week.) I missed Syaranosui (though Rosi says they did great, and translated my kind words for Miyuki, the Japanese member of the band) and saw Screaming Banshee Aircrew, who are lotsa tradgoth fun. redcountess and arkady were way too *splat* to make it out, but I did my best to represent my darlings. Lotsa pics — you people are so ridiculously beautiful.

Now sitting up tending to an Oracle server that's trying to fill a disk partition. I'm not quite sure how to fix the problem, but I'm going to be paged every twenty ten minutes until I work out how to at least bandaid the bastard thing. 22 megabytes of the month's 50 MB used.

I was down the pub and on the job. I explained my job as "roadie to programmers." The power of a black T-shirt and gaffer tape.

You are obviously going to run out of your 50MB sometime and it's going to cost them [your employers]. So make sure you are logging time and event for all callouts so that you can defend youself when they whinge about the bill.

Oh, they won't be like that about it. I'll just point out that a bit of usage over the weekend ran it up that much and to be ready for it.

I don't think my boss will worry too much about it, as his eyes lit up at the idea of being on-call from the pub ...
