arkady came over yesterday and expertly attacked the garden while redcountess, Jim from upstairs and I watched. Jim and Mog are getting too old to do their side of the garden properly, but Arkady had a wonderful time attacking the roses. Then, as our carefully-Internetted Sainsbury's order was missing most of our Christmas dinner, we braved the crowds at Asda on the last Saturday before Christmas, OH FUCK ME DEAD WITH A CHAV, running home to make a chili con carne that actually worked. Particularly with a pint or two.

I stayed at Arkady's and then we set out first thing in the early afternoon to finish our Xmess shopping. We discovered with horror yesterday that our Christmas tree ornaments were nowhere to be found — we're hoping they're lurking under a seat in _nicolai_ or vampwillow's car — so I stopped by the Pier to get more. I am deeply distraught that they do not have the ridiculously gay rainbow mirror balls they had two years ago, but I got a purple thing with a feather, more mirror balls and a star for the top. Saw cybermuppet on the train to Camden. He, of course, has all his shopping done (bastard). I secured a complete selection of presents for Liz and at least one for Arkady. Everything is now wrapped and under the tree. I am eating dinner and guzzling a much-needed *pint*.
