[livejournal.com profile] arkady came over yesterday and expertly attacked the garden while [livejournal.com profile] redcountess, Jim from upstairs and I watched. Jim and Mog are getting too old to do their side of the garden properly, but Arkady had a wonderful time attacking the roses. Then, as our carefully-Internetted Sainsbury's order was missing most of our Christmas dinner, we braved the crowds at Asda on the last Saturday before Christmas, OH FUCK ME DEAD WITH A CHAV, running home to make a chili con carne that actually worked. Particularly with a pint or two.

I stayed at Arkady's and then we set out first thing in the early afternoon to finish our Xmess shopping. We discovered with horror yesterday that our Christmas tree ornaments were nowhere to be found — we're hoping they're lurking under a seat in [livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_ or [livejournal.com profile] vampwillow's car — so I stopped by the Pier to get more. I am deeply distraught that they do not have the ridiculously gay rainbow mirror balls they had two years ago, but I got a purple thing with a feather, more mirror balls and a star for the top. Saw [livejournal.com profile] cybermuppet on the train to Camden. He, of course, has all his shopping done (bastard). I secured a complete selection of presents for Liz and at least one for Arkady. Everything is now wrapped and under the tree. I am eating dinner and guzzling a much-needed *pint*.

I do indeed (pic in icon) but I don't understand that thread at all!

I want a beer too (or a cider)

Our tree is made of silver tinsel and was purchased off of Ebay last year; it's the fakest, gayest tree in the world, now looking at starting its own home decorating series as I have decorated it with miniature lights wrapped in fake flowers and it's outdone itself. Oh, I love it.

[livejournal.com profile] meico has offered his place for the entire time I'm gone, which makes me think I should just settle in there and stay put - but I'd still like to come visit (and cook if you're brave). What are your thoughts?

We are staying about a five minute walk from King's Cross, which I think is pretty great.

I luuvs the new icon. [livejournal.com profile] wechsler said it gave him "the fear," so I must be on to something. This one looked promising, too ...

I, for one, would find that quite interesting to watch.

As long as they didn't actually kill you.
Because that would be nasty.

You inspired me to put a picture of my Christmas tree up. Now, of course, I want the mirror balls you've described, though the tree and I would probably fight it out for a chance to wear them.
