I have bought everyone's presents. "Everyone" being [livejournal.com profile] redcountess, [livejournal.com profile] arkady and Arkady's daughters Dani and Kit.

(Getting a present for one's girlfriend's twelve-year-old daughter at Lush is an interesting exercise: trying to find something whose description doesn't read like women's erotica for toiletries.)

Liz made it out of the house today, going to Wilkinson and Woolworth's in Wood Green for a remarkable quantity of Christmas decorations. (Liz: "I'm just wondering if we've got too many baubles." Me: "What are you, a heterosexual?") And a set of Christmas lights with an eight-setting control box. I must have missed the memo where Christmas lights turned into geek toys.

Arkady and I brought the livestock over and we now have two boy rats and a girl rat going "G'day! G'day!" at each other. For rats, every night is New Year's Eve! [livejournal.com profile] tom_pusscat was dissuaded from batting at the ornaments, so is half asleep but keeping a close eye out. Just in case any of them try to get away.

I got Arkady a T-shirt, a book and Lush "Slammer" shower gel. Liz got her the Doors An American Prayer and The Doors movie DVD. Arkady got Liz a Lost Boys DVD and soundtrack CD and me a T-shirt (I now own something from Alchemy Gothic ... oh dear) and a Theakston's pint glass and *pint*.

Our Solstice dinner was a large hunk of gammon with Wensleydale cheese and cranberry with potatoes, carrots and much-needed *pint*s. I am so annoyed I have to go to w*rk tomorrow.

We get two Christmases this year. So there.

Update: We just watched Lost Boys. The haircuts are unspeakable, but that's the best last line. (You have to watch the whole film first.) Now on the special features. Tom is trying to eat the tinsel off the tree; I fully expect to come in tomorrow to the tree on the floor.

My mum tried to by me a present for Kitty to give to me from Lush once, but deemed everything "inappropriate".

I tried and failed miserably with the Lush non-sexual challenge while buying my Grandmother's present, and found out when I got home that I'd still not succeeded. Never mind. Maybe she'll laugh at it.

The two Lush items I have with the most innocent-sounding names ("Therapy" and "Dreamcatcher") are massage bars. So even if you manage to find something that sounds innocuous, the item itself is likely to be suggestive. :-/

Though I guess you could always claim it's really body lotion in a bar. I have found that the "Therapy" one in particular is excellent for soothing dry sore hands.

I have some "Happy for S.A.D." shower gel (purple and smells of oranges) and some "Cynthia Sylvia Stout" shampoo (shampoo with beer in it!)

I love The Lost Boys. I've seen it more times than can possibly be good for a person.

I think it's the one movie (aside from RHPS and It's A Wonderful Line) one can see over and over again and not get sick of it, despite the hair cuts.

What about Labyrinthe? I can watch that over and over and never tire of it!
