There's nothing like downloading three gig of data (on a 256kb DSL) and discovering the compression is corrupt. Grah!

Tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] arkady and I go to court. Business drag! Then to the Dev, we think. I shall have to take a change of shirt to get in the door. "Say, friend, have you heard about Zee-noo?" See Arkady's new 60cm model dolly.

Today, [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and I have been in the computer room. It's like camping out in your own house. Ikea will apparently be happy to replace the foot of the bed, the bit that failed ... if we lug it to Fucking Lakeside. Alternatives suggesting themselves to me include drilling deeper holes in the existing bit of wood and using longer screws that are therefore less likely to remove themselves, and possibly preemptively doing the same at the head end.

At the head end of the bed, or at the head end of Lakeside Ikea's manager?

Have you asked them if you can take it to Edmonton instead, as you are not near Lakeside and are near Edmonton (but it wasn't open when you bought the bed)?
I'm going to whichever IKEA can sell me some more Journalist shelving in a week or two, I could give a lift then.

If you do DIY on it, will it void your warranty? Get some really long screws, some spagetti (that plastic tubing shit that makes screws grip better) and a cordless drill and I reckon that'll hold.
