Friday, arkady and I went to a dinner party at nou's. Hi to ewtikins, chrysaphi and wintrmute. Also met Kake's housemate boyfriend rjw1, her sister Liz and friend Phil. My back went sproing walking from East Croydon station, so I took a pile of tablets and several medicinal beers. Cheers to Bob for his Badger collection. Kathryn and Kake regaled us with tales of the naked canapés.

Saturday was a writeoff for housework with the sproinged back, so we stayed in bed obsessively watching the bad news from New Orleans. X Window System was the Wikipedia front page, and was nicely improved over the course of the day. Space opera in Scientology doctrine should be up in a week or two.

I stopped at Arkady's and stepped on her new scales. I'm still in 34" jeans, but I WEIGH A HUNDRED KILOGRAMS. I know I tell everyone else to look at their measurements and never their weight, but it's still horrible. Two weeks of a desk job and I put on five kilos! I may never eat again.

On Sunday, Arkady came over early to bleach my hair and she, redcountess and I went to the London Fetish Fair. I secured my preciousss cloves from webcowgirl. (shadowdaddy had bought Djarums rather than Gudangs, but I'm sure I'll go through them at a suitable rate!) We saw lots of dear pr3v3rts. Arkady bought a black carriage whip with a suede handle and I got a leather wristband (goes well with the mesh top) and will be emailing about a lovely leather waist cincher which would also go very well. (It has a metal ring on the front. Arkady offered to put a leash on it so I wouldn't get lost, but my plan is to attach my camera to it. When I get a working camera.)

ciphergoth had a moral dilemma at the bar. He overheard a woman discussing how she was allowed to send ten emails per account, so would create hundreds of accounts and cleverly use them to promote her site using the other site. The moral dilemma was: should he beat her around the head and neck first, or go for the gut? And would a baseball bat or death by a thousand cuts (one per email) be more morally correct? "Why yes, my personal kink is beating the living fuck out of spammers. Excuse me." (bam, pow, splat)

One of my friends used to live with a "spammer". Of course the friend in question was the one who had cabled the house in the first place, and maintained the firewall linux box, so punishment was always swiftly dealt out. Usually this was by cutting the cat5 with wire cutters, leaving the spammer to do the repair with sellotape and/or blutack.

They also owned some of those automatic BB guns and would hose him down from time to time, when they needed to enter his room to retrieve crockery.

He really was a disgrace.

I'm thinking what to do to a spammer. Catch the spammer, strip it, grease it up. Undo trousers. *whump* "See that? That was from your p1llz. See this? It's h3rb@l v1k@gkr@." *gulp gulp* *sproing* "No, no, it's okay. I'll wear protection." (gets out Rolex)

Actually, arkady suggests suitably adapting this. The hard part will be stopping at only twenty.

The spammer is a problem. The obvious answer would be some sort of theatrical punishment but that would only work if we can identify that she's a domme. If she's a sub punishment would be at best pointless and at worst a reward.

Maybe the best think to do would be to point out the damage spamming will do to her business. Suggest that you'll set up a site with a list of scene spammers. I think spam is technically illegal - though getting someone bollocked for it may be the hard part.

I really don't see why people spam as it doesn't appear to work. Maybe she thinks no-one's thought of it before?
