What a metal surprise.

Splaaat. redcountess has been quite ill (no magnesium for the last few days — a magnesium capsule every night having proven as necessary as a Naproxen every day to avoid trouble) and arkady being unwell too means our planned date is postponed and I'm home to look after Liz and the kitties. And I am quite utterly buggered myself.

Neo is still suffering runny poo, but he's acclimatising to the new house and is using the litter tray by preference. Neo and Madam both hate the grownup Whiskas I fed them this morning (we were out of the kitten stuff), but they did eventually eat it all when there wasn't anything else. And at least they didn't bolt it. They're curled up on the couch next to Liz while she partakes of the new Sky connection ... to watch BBC2, of course.

We are now lying next to each other on the bed, kitties curled up by us, having just eaten some most nourishing grease, occasionally pausing to cause the kittens to teleport from the bed to the floor. Here's to takeout.

I'm mostly very reassured by it :-) If I buy stuff that isn't horribly cheap and is marked "complete", then I'm fine. And I'm particularly reassured by the last paragraph.

I know what cats eat given the chance, and that if you don't give your cat a suitable diet then the local rodent and bird population is going to decrease markedly ...

When I got my cats I was told to feed them gently-boiled minced chicken for a few days, and gradually introduce regular cat food.

We have no fresh cat litter until tomorrow evening. So I just gave the kitten solids collection tray a thorough trawling for kitten solids and hope it will not be intolerable (to them even more so than us) by tomorrow evening!

To get them to eat the food make it more appetising by mixing it with a dissolved oxocube(only do it in a little hot water).

To bind up poorly kitten mix up some arrowroot powder with oxo cube in boiling water and use plain boiled meats or tineed tuna in brine to mix in with it..give for a couple of days..idf doesn't seem full then add in small quantities of boiled rice too.
