Being an attention whore, I have stuck my neck out to be a UK press contact for Wikipedia/Wikimedia. This means I need a photo of myself suitable for press use — high resolution, would be good in colour or black and white. Your suggestions? Start here or here. Unfortunately, I don't have a high-resolution copy of this icon.

I recommend getting a decent pic done in B&W - B&W photos don't "date" as quickly as colour, so a decent one will last for a good few years.

Does this mean I can actually contact MCR and try to get a press release out of them for updating-wikipedia-purposes, because you'll be able to say "yes, she is helping out and isn't a freaky stalker?"

That might verge on original research ;-) You should be able to get sufficient attributed third-party material with references. Surely there's acres of press coverage on them.

see, you would think that, but no. (Also, damnit, i want a press kit.) 95% of the MCR 'sources' around still perpetuate the 'Mikey has asthma' myth, which has been debunked by Mikey himself about 12 times in various apperances.

Oh well, I certainly couldn't do any worse. (And also, half of the current MCR entries are taken word-for-word from the MCR webpage.)

Ah. In that case, getting a press kit might be worth the effort! I suppose it's more of a referable source than what's there (which would normally count as a copyright violation!).

I'll see what I can manage on my own. :) (Part of the problem seems to be that a lot of articles get things wrong and/or misinterpret what's said in interviews. And I think that just amuses MCR, because they never make much effort to correct it. *g*)

Maybe I should just redirect my efforts at getting in touch with them to tell them to write the wikipedia entries on MCR themselves. ;)
