A few people have asked about this.

Update: new version at http://reddragdiva.co.uk/policy.html.

  1. I am not out to piss people off, because I want to keep being allowed to take their photo for online use.
  2. If I take your photo when we're out, I generally want to put it online.
  3. I try to ask first, though if you're being particularly photogenic I might take a pic and then ask your approval. If I forget, please forgive me and I will take it down if asked.
  4. If you don't want it online, please tell me. I may still want to have a pic just because I think you're aesthetically marvellous.
  5. Even if the preview is awful, the photo might not be at all. See next rule if it is.
  6. If you see a photo online on my photo site that you utterly despise, let me know fairly promptly and I'll probably take it down. (If you say six months later that you utterly despise it, I will be reluctant to.)
  7. If you hate all photographs, please let me know. (If you're in a large crowd shot in a public place, I will be reluctant to take the shot down because of it.)
  8. All the above is subject to variation within reason and good sense. The first rule is the important one.
  9. Feel free to use your image for icons, your own sites, etc. (Please let me know and add a credit.) Original camera JPEG available on request. I have a photo printer now and would be most pleased to do an A4 print of a picture of you that you really like.

Any questions? (The above wording may change as people ask for clarifications.)

The above is slightly at variation with [livejournal.com profile] arkady's photo policy (main difference is the takedown policy), so in general if I'm taking the pics I'll be putting them on my space rather than hers.

(Taking photos of goths is generally not problematic — cameras are to goths as tuna is to cats. Goths like to feel aesthetically appreciated.)

I took a look at the gallery and saw that you went to a St.Trinians party!
I am so jealous! I thought I was the only Australian who knew what St.Trinians were!

Cameras make me paranoid. Photos doubley so, though gone are the days where i would run away or get tearful if one got pointed at me too much. (its was either get tearful or angry, and i don't do angry when i can help it). I guess that removes my last few goth points? *grin*

for future reference, while i hate *knowing* my picture is being taken, i don't really mind having pictures taken, or made public. but if they're going on teh interweb, i prefer that my last name not be attached, and my first be siani, and not sian. i work somewhere *very* conservative.

If I have the e-mail address of people I don't know well enough to be sure they don't mind, I usually e-mail them immediately so they'll have a headstart at telling me to take them down if so desired...

I don't care if people take pictures of me, but if they do, they funnier the better. I like to make people laugh and giggle...

I generally don't mind my photo being taken. Though I may well cringe or be overly self-critical (habit that is never shaken i find). Maybe I'll be less self-critical if I manage to lose enough weight to look as good as I feel I did in that photo you once took of me at bmovie nearly 3 years ago...

For future note - I don't mind my picture being taken (though you indemnify me of any damage should your lens crack :)) but due to work, please don't post a picture online with my real name attached to it or anywhere near it. Use the alias 'Divine' if you ever post any of me.

I don´t give a toss what people think about me putting them up online and all that, but if they ask me kindly to take a photo off the site, I would of course comply.... what annoys me is that when it´s a group shot or two or more people and it´s a really really nice photo and just one of the people asks me to take it off the site. I normally then try to Photoshop it, but it doesn´t always work depending on the photo of course.

Grrr to those people. But well, you got to respect their wishes I guess.

And, did I say GRRRRR? ;)

Hehe, nice idea, that Xenu, LOL.

And yeah, I have done it many times too, it´s just that some photos look stupid with a gap in between them. Or you just find someone else´s head from another photo and stick it on their body.... done that before too, heheh. ;)

Remember, people who take pictures of [livejournal.com profile] wechsler and post them where I can see them get lovely Indonesian cigarettes. And this time, they might even get the right brand.

Deal?

I hate all photographs, but I'll usually paste a smile on if one asks nicely.
