We get a [livejournal.com profile] narnee for Christmas! Now I need to find Chanukah candles. What's a source more convenient than Hendon? (I live in Walthamstow, go through the city and work in Morden.)

More old pics up: Liz and David's first anniversary dinner (11th July 2004) and As You Like It at Shakespeare's Globe (6th August 2004). I should have our April 2004 holiday shots and my April 2003 Whitby shots up in the near future!

I retrieved my old Party Fears from [livejournal.com profile] arkady's, and now I have a scanner. MUWAHAHAHAHA.

I think Tesco in Canada Water has a Jewsh section. Waitrose in Canary Wharf does but no candles that I saw. Stamford Hill maybe? I'm not sure. Golders Green will have something but is only marginally more convenient than Hendon.

As I understand it, any candles that burn for half an hour will do, but you should use new candles each night. You'll need 44 of them to get through the entire Chanukah period. I'm not sure if birthday candles last long enough. Of course, you should check with the person staying with you about these finer points.

Try the Whitechapel area? There's still a synagogue on Commercial Road.

Look in my kitchen drawer under the microwave - you'll find a big box of them there that [livejournal.com profile] ewtikins gave me when I first moved in.

There's a f#cking huge synagogue on Bevis Marks. And the restaurant's pretty decent too...

you should be able to find them in Stamford Hill, which is not that far from Walthstow. All a quick google turned up:

This reminds me, I've migrated everything but static.rocknerd.org off Linode. Please don't bung any new content on for a few days so I can rsync what's there over to the new box and swing DNS across.

Novus Ordo. They don't have a website, they're just a couple of BOFHs funding their own addiction by selling FreeBSD jails for not-very-much-money.

In theory that's less reliable than Linode, but given how much Linode's service has sucked it's not a big risk.

So, yeah, Canadia rather than USA. Have sent email with actual details.
