Freda is two today! Her present haul was a talking Makkapakka, a musical Miffy book, a rag doll, a pram for the rag doll, a cuddly jaguar and a sandpit table! She immediately demanded to take the rag doll out in the pram, then came back and played with the sandpit table for a while. She's rather pleased. Pics: 1 2 3 4.

I've discovered sshfs for Ubuntu and now the network file stuff Just Works-ish. Any server you can sftp to, you can have work in all applications like it's all on your local hard disk. Very nice.

sshfs: join ussss. I'm even using it in place of NFS at work now, and to shift stuff to and from my colo boxes, and... So damn convenient.
