David is in hospital
Mar. 3rd, 2006 12:03 amHi, Liz here. David has been very ill with the flu all week, which has been exacerbating his asthma. This afternoon he was finding breathing very difficult, so I rang A&E and after listening to his breathing over the phone, they transferred us to the Ambulance service who confirmed our address and sent a nee naw. After taking all his vitals and putting him on a nebuliser, we were whisked off to Whipps Cross A&E where they took a chest x-ray, and some bloods, and then put him on the nebuliser again. The consultant checked his blood gas and found it low, so David was put on straight oxygen and when that didn't improve the gas level, he was admitted overnight. Arkady and I have been quite concerned, but when we left him, he was a lot more comfortable and healthier looking than he was earlier, and incredibly bored ;-) Hopefully he will be back home tomorrow.

Date: 2006-03-03 12:44 am (UTC)I suppose I should have warned him that I'm seeing doctors for a heart problem and as-of-yet unexplained stabbing pain in the abdomen, as well as trying to quit smoking, and under a lot of stress.
Or is this not a cause-and-effect thing, merely just a terrifyingly creepy series of strange coincidences?
In any case: get well soon, The Evil Huey. Signed, The Evil David
PS: I'LL GET YOU

Date: 2006-03-03 12:23 pm (UTC)I can't imagine how mind-numbing it must be to be stuck in a hospital bed for days...
Please pass my sympathies on to David and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
