Minor problem with sshfs: when you come back from suspend, anything trying to use the file system hangs in confusion. Reconnecting to the server appears out of the question (-o reconnect doesn't appear to solve this). Ideas welcomed — in all other ways, it's just what I was after.

Visited [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden today (Wednesday). I went into a series of appalling outbursts of standup comedy involving transplanting entire arms as penis substitutes. I also made up a joke:

Q. Why did the chicken cross the road?
A. It was following its cock.

Nye has also lent me his spare Creative Zen MP3 player (DAP-HD0014, originally [livejournal.com profile] flippac's), which he can't use jogging as it has a hard disk. The various 5V Casio chargers I still have here fit it perfectly (and my Fujifilm camera). It took command-line bludgeoning as root to get it working under Linux, though gnomad2 with this and this guide was just the thing. More or less. With occasional cursing, thumping and inexplicable hangs. Still better than Vista/7, which Creative won't make drivers for 'cos they want you to buy a new player instead. (Presumably an iPod.)

Vagabonds is this Saturday, not next Saturday! I didn't know this until Nye told me. We'll be going.

I unmount sshfs filesystems before suspending. Or after restart, if I forgot. Sorry.
