Tomorrow is my and arkady's third anniversary of leaning toward each other, falling on each other's faces, staying there and thinking "what a good idea" and having ali_anarres and duranorak go "awww!" at us finally realising what everyone had been shouting at us. So far so good. Our current plans are dinner then Dreadnought. Rather than the shiny new Ixus 50, whose charger has gone walkies, I will be bringing an old PowerShot S110, a.k.a. Ixus v. Two megapixels only, but very nice optics. So let's see how the old skool goes.

(I like the old Ixus because people are amazed how much nicer photos they actually produce in 2MP than current Chinese no-brand 4-5MP. Anyone in the market for a nice small digital with a steel case, let me know and I'll do ya nice deal. Ixus v in box with all original accessories. You can see and hold it tomorrow night.)

redcountess is mostly over my cold and is now suffering only the usual fibro and pressure change induced illnesses (and stir craziness and wishing she had the energy to leave the house). She did amazingly 'l33t work just now tidying the bedroom in preparation for the arrival of the new mattress, which I certainly hope will in fact be this week, seeing as there isn't much left of it. We bought a file box from Staples and discovered their way of dealing with having shipped you a cracked box is just to ship a good one and let you keep the old one. We like this sort of customer service.

Spring is in the air and the cats are killing small things. Tom did in a pigeon (not a city one, thankfully — here's to being just near Epping Forest) and Madam has been leaving a trail of mice which Neo has been pretending he caught. They'll have their own Dreadnought flyer soon enough.

Tom's an 11-year-old veteran of the Cat vs Pigeons Wars, and he's on the winning side (Tom Lehrer would approve, I feel). He comes from farmhouse stock, and he's been teaching the kittens how to be "proper" cats. Madam seems to have gotten the hang of it better than Neo.

Aaah, good old farm cat! :o) It certainly explains a lot! What's the biggest thing he's ever brought in?

Neo is just a little bit "blond". Madam also got some early mouser training by her momma (though didn't, to the best of my knowledge, bring anything home before moving to Walthamstow).
