My own Ixus 50 has a 'da Oly protector on it. 2mm thick perspex; probably couldn't actually stop a bullet, but is fine for most things that might hurt a fragile LCD. Just over five quid mail order from the US, took about a week to get here; I recommend it highly.

Today in the post I got an Ixus 50 that was less fortunate. The camera still works, and somehow the LCD still works, but compare these two shots (taken with the handy Ixus 400 that also arrived today):

This one had a cruel, cruel stepowner who didn't realise a large LCD is a large target area.

This one has a loving owner (me) who put a protector on it before taking it out in earnest!

(The huge LCDs are apparently because the Japanese market love them. The Ixus 50 and 55 are pretty much identical except the LCD; same for the Ixus 60 and Ixus 65.)

Always use protection. The camera you save may be your own.

Oh great camera guru...

Talking of Canon Ixus cameras...you might be a good person to ask! I've lost my charger for my Canon Ixus V3 and Jessups said a new one would be something ludicrous, any ideas for where to get a cheap one or one that is similar and would do the job..?
Ta in advance for any suggestions!

There's a hairline crack on the left hand side of the first screen, which while atm is only a cosmetic nuisance, could develop into something worse eg. stop the screen working completely.
