I have often thought that, should I suffer some terrible accident removing all my ethics, audiophile equipment would be a fabulous business to go into.

yeah, the Bose soundsystems i've heard all make me think that the accident removing ethics is an essential first step.

You still have to pay for the mecury-cored ones.

"Isn't the sound just SO much more fluid and dynamic? You'll want fourteen of course: two for each main channel sending and return, plus four for the dual-channel subwoofer I'm about to sell you in the next room."

Don't mercury cored cables run?

They come in runs of 1 to 5 meters, starting at £500.

Leakage? None measurable! The combination of amorphous conductor and ground-braid shielding virtually eliminate all cable-related crosstalk.

Oh, does the mercury ever come out? Well, repeated tight bends MAY weaken the housing material, and we specifically recommend having the cables installed by our technicians to ensure proper installation, and ensure all warranty terms are complied with. Improper installation will void the warranty.

Only $1000 a pair!

'S OK, as long as you include actually, these 450 $/ft cables cost me 0.10 $/ft and the markup goes to funding a life of exquisite food and exhilirating sex somewhere on the packaging (though you should go for a SMALL (erm, SMALL) font) you're probably morally OK.

Possibly include booklets including the methods of double-blind testing and confirmation bias, for future education.

So, shoudl I go shop for an Ltd? We can rainstorm sales-pitches and educational leaflets over a pint at some point. I'm sure there's a cable manufacturer that can do us a decent 2-cord cable in psychedelic-colour sheeting for not very much.

"'Elemental Copper' technology cable acts to minimise the disruptions caused in the transmission of the sound from your amplification units to your amplifier/air interface in a most secret manner. We have scoured the planet for the best copper possible as raw material for our trade-secret 'Elemental Copper' technology. Many test-listeners can't tell the difference between 'Elementa Copper' technology-enhanced speaker cables and the best oxygen-free speaker cables ion the market, at ONLY 80% of the price! Some educational literature enclosed."

Cheap isn't a selling point. You want very expensive for those fucks.

Maplin is a good source of cheap wire fwiw.

Ah, no, JUST cheaper than the most expensive option is a selling-point. IIRC, the oxygen-free has been priced at about 450 dollars per metre, so selling at (say) 400 dollars per metre is, well, Still Not Cheap.

Be careful with your marketing there. It's very hard to convince people that your $400/yard cable can sound better than their previously bought $450/yard. Now at $600/yard, it's GOT to be better...

Hmm, 2 LTD's, one selling at just below the pricepoint of your competitors, the other selling way above it. Get oodles of cash AND a PhD in Economics. "A practical demonstration of price elasticity in the pricing of high end consumer goods."

What music do these people listen to? Is there a certain band/genre/person who buys all that kind of things? I bet they like early Genesis and King Crimson.
