Job interview first thing late morning this lunchtime. Sole Unix BOFH at an outsourcing company, the technical interviewer being the guy I'd be replacing; mostly project work, the job's immediate "customers" being internal project teams. I've never been the admin of sole responsibility (except for a while after being thrown in the deep end at Ericsson) and I have some trepidation. On the other hand, with five years' Solaris, it's about time I was.

arkady's landlord called to prod us about the albatross, asking if we could please be out by the weekend so they can clean. They said please, so I expect that's what we'll be doing today and tomorrow. I could really have done with a nice evening at home pottering around, but oh well.

redcountess is working her way through the Buffy box and now has her eye on the Angel box on eBay.

Oh, good, i'm glad to hear about sclerotic_rings. Be a shame for all that work to go to waste: maybe he could turn the journal into a community and turn it over to someone else.

Unfortunately, if you turn a personal LJ into a community, all previous posts are deleted. But it would be nice if he would undelete the LJ and perhaps just set it to only allow comments from people on his friends list, which would rule out the trolls.

That's what I suggested to him, as well -- Kira sent me a very alarmed e-mail when she discovered his journal had been deleted!!
