I spent this morning answering pimp calls in my sleep and did a phone interview at two. I have a second interview face to face tomorrow morning. redcountess did a sterling job as sekketry. arkady went out on secret dollie business.

mofette is down for the weekend dollie picnic at Regent's Park. w00t! We are going to Avenue Q on Thursday night (tickets bought months ago), so she will be trying for the Sluts meet. Is there anything on Friday to take her to other than the Dev?

I have been playing silly buggers with the MJPEGtools. Here we have Arkady doing poi:

To run the second at half speed, I used ImageMagick to break the MJPEG into frames (adjusting the levels and gamma of each), a shell script to make a copy of each, gThumb to rename them in sequence and jpeg2yuv | yuvdenoise | mpeg2enc to re-encode as an MPEG2. I'm sure there are easier ways, but this was more fun.

Update: Right-click and save these; I don't think either server is fast enough to stream them. QuickTime sucks — play the videos in VLC or MPlayer. These files are honest to God MPEG2s (possibly the raw stream dump with no container), so I'm reluctant to go wildly out of my way, but if anyone can tell me a simple way to get mpeg2enc to generate something QuickTime won't turn its nose up at then I'm all ears.

VLC is great, but for Windows users, K-lite Mega Codec Pack FTW! Includes MPC (Media Player Classic, open sourced) & every codec under the sun. Obviates the need for silly Quicktime or Realplayer. No spyware / adware included. Plays every format EVAR! If you don't like MPC, keep using VLC but with the codecs from K-lite.

Seconded. I only ever use K-Lite on Windows and have yet to find something it couldn't handle.
