Current music: Epic Soundtracks' collected postmortem leftovers album, Everything Is Temporary, bought from eMusic. Damn this is fine.

Pretty much missed Crimson Altar due to running way late and being crap. Sorry [livejournal.com profile] missykittykat. I also forgot my Howl's Moving Nightclub handbill so had to phone [livejournal.com profile] redcountess for directions from London Bridge to SE One. Doin' great!

SE One is a nightclub for stupid people with too much money that lives under a bridge. Entry was five quid as usual but the drink prices were on crack. I drank Rolling Rock at £3.50 a bottle, vodka and Red Bull was seven goatfucking quid. The toilets have a most helpful attendant who you are meant to tip. The dancefloors are carpeted, which only makes sense in terms of helping airheaded sticks in spike heels who can't dance not fall over. So that's the goths taken care of. The hideously sweaty weather didn't help.

I'm down on the venue and it made the night seem less fun than, thinking back, it actually was. I had a most wonderful time hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] eyeliner297 and [livejournal.com profile] flickgc all evening and [livejournal.com profile] natassja13 for much of it. They made my evening fundamentally not suck. And many others who I won't attempt to list as I will forget one or two.

The Ixus 50 got quite the workout. It was Front-Fill Flash evening, so the shots are bright red and blurry with a focused face in the middle. [livejournal.com profile] godgirl even got a half-decent shot of me!

[livejournal.com profile] greap's horrible new beard; [livejournal.com profile] nniaa and [livejournal.com profile] sweetcyanide; the happy main floor.

[livejournal.com profile] flickgc; [livejournal.com profile] eyeliner297, branded by Flick; me by [livejournal.com profile] godgirl.

I left when it shut at 3:30am and walked all the way to Angel for my bus, accompanied by Clive, who was doing the same walk all the way to King's Cross. Of course I got pics.

Southwark Bridge from London Bridge; Tower Bridge from London Bridge; the green line that guides half-blinded outpatients from Moorfield Eye Hospital to Old Street station.

I got home at 5:30, fed the cats and fell over. Woke up at 1pm with the Hayfever from Hell. My mouth tastes like a carpeted dancefloor.

You're right; the venue is crap. I had good fun. I must apologise, though, for getting really drunk and talking shite at you for so long. [mwah]

It was probably all completely true and utterly innapropriate! I did have a great night in the end.

I'm sorry you didn't like the venue. Personally, Alex and I liked it, which was why we chose it.

It has a great (pair of) sound systems (unlike Clockwork). It has air-conditioning (arguably), but certainly better than Slimes or The Toilet. The furniture doesn't look like someone was knifed to death on it, the floor doesn't look as though someone gave birth on it, and your nostrils aren't black at the end of the night. They actually have cleaners!

The fact that they're extremely squeaky clean in terms of fire exits, number of fire marshals, first aid staff, security, stopping people taking drugs in the loos and so on is sadly reflected in the cost. We can't give you all that without it being paid for somehow.

As "mainstream" nightclubs go, it's actually at the cheaper end.

Nice pictures. Especially the portraits and London.
London looks so beautiful. (and so do you, so do you)

It does sound grim. Their carpet cleaning bills must be immense.

I could probably walk home from that venue..

i've got a big article on epic, sizing him up as a tragic giant among a decade of 'song-writer' dwarves more akin to elton or neil diamond than rundgren or nyro, that i need to retrieve off a currently deceased laptop of mine. that's really the only way i can explain people who are genuinely into elliot smith - they ain't heard the real thing.

While praising your photography, could I ask you to make me some icons, please?

Yes, Lucy definitely needs iconifying, you took such great pics of her in London :D

Speaking of, are the rest of the Dev photos up anywhere? Aside from the entirely too embarrassing one of me completely losing my shit, that is ;D

I *must* make Kira an animated .gif icon of "Dinosaur Sodomy," may I add . . . that is absolutely utterly the best thing ever ^-^

(And I'm in a superlative mood tonight, does it show? *grin*)

Um.... 26, 54, 56, 108, 116 & 117 please! I hope you got one or two OK shots of me in the Dev.

Arkady has some great shots of my dolls, too, so I may ask her about possible icons when she is home :)

A carpeted dance floor?

*blink*

That's not right.

I'm SO glad that I only drink water when I'm out, those prices are outrageous.

Which is fine until you wander into the loos for a refil - at which point you can't get near to the sink without being mugged by a toilet attendant attempting to squeeze liquid soap into your hands and charge you for the privelege. :(

I've been to SEOne before, and I don't recall it being anything like as bad as it was on Friday night. The Hygiene Tax Enforcer was the most officious of his kind I have yet to experience - that was the lowlight for me. The priciness of the drinks can be circumvented (go to the pub beforehand) and the carpetted dancefloor wasn't a big deal for me. Overall the venue was clean, comfortable and clueful, and as others have said, the company was excellent.

Pay-to-piss sounds dreadful - I know it's common in Germany and probably other places but I don't expect it in clubs.

We're looking at that.

My personal attitude is that if I don't use his aftershave, and I don't eat his lollipops, then I'm not tipping him. If there is noother soap and towels available than what he has, then I'm STILL not tipping him. However, I do understand that the attendants are kind of intimidating. We didn't know they were going to be there beforehand, and we will try and get them sorted out if we go back.

I suspect, to be honest, that they are REALLY there to make sure that only one person goes into each cubical (sic). I certainly can't imagine it made sense from a fiscal point of view on their part, with a bunch of goths in the club.
