I think the Canon Zoombrowser software, which should have come with it, lets you do some webcammy things with an Ixus. I'll see what I can find out. Did you get the software with it? If not, I'll put up a copy of the software from my Ixus 50, which is the model up so should be much the same.

I did, and I put it on the computer, but I don't really know how to use it, so I just ignored it, I am trying to work out how to chat to my friend on skype, and wondered if I can use it for that, thanks xx

Yeah :-) looks like it doesn't, unfortunately. Older models used to be able to be remotely controlled (so you could make the camera take a picture and send it down the cable), but newer ones (e.g. yours) apparently aren't.

Cheap webcams shouldn't be hard to get though ;-)

My old digital camera which was really cheap (£20 6 years ago)and crap (normal batteries, died within a minute, no memory no display) could be used as one, but I have lost the cable to connect it to the computer, I will have a look for a cheap webcam on ebay then, thanks xx
