It seems to be, yes. Unless what's being tested is language, they'll mark according to whether they can make out that the student understands the subject . . . so roughly in line with standard practice, then.

This makes me mad. The whole thing about English (in Australia at least) is that to graduate highschool you have to have a rudimentary idea of what kind of language is suited to different situations. Txt in exams is not!!

I'm trying to bite my tongue as much as I can...
