Thursday [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and I should be meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] txxxpxx and Mr Pop, or them with us. Friday I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] bmovie! Saturday morning I drag my hungover carcass up nice and early to get out for the annual Scientologist-bothering. Must find my other glove. Liz will be off at Dr Sketchy's. Saturday evening we have cocktails with [livejournal.com profile] gothbabe or birthdaying with [livejournal.com profile] d_floorlandmine.

Assembling KITTENHOEFFER magazine stands proceeds. Our goal is to get all our stuff out of the storage locker before Arkady goes to Wales for Christmas. This will also save us a highly desirable couple of hundred quid a month.

Liz has, with [livejournal.com profile] arkady's support, filled out the forms for Disability Living Allowance. And by crikey it's a sobering form: setting out just how crippled one is on one's worst day. Apart from a small amount of cash to subsidise transport and cleaners, we may be able to get a blue badge and a disabled parking spot, which will help enormously when we finally get a car.

What cretin decided ImageMagick didn't want to support JPEG in a default (configure;make;make install) source build?

Waah?!

GIF, I could understand (ImageMagick used a patent-evading GIF format, which wrote horribly bloated but still functional images), but JPEG?

Tina left a voicemail on my phone earlier, she's in Finsbury Park. She said she's tried emailing you but hasn't had a reply and doesn't have your mobile number. I'll give her a call tonight, shall I suggest we meet up tomorrow night instead, say in Camden? If you email me your mobile number I'll pass it on to her. Tony's already gone back to Australia, sadly (Pop is going on to the Christmas markets in Denmark after this).

Well if you compile in support for every obscure, niche image format the binary would be huge, and hardly anyone uses JPEG, do they?

True. Windows mostly uses JPG instead, so it must be only those tree hugging hippie types that ue JPEG.

You get tighter compression without the E.

Alas, tommorow night is out of the question for me too.

Even though I dont drink tea. :)

Damnit..I hate to be this obstructionist.

I'll check my email again, Im sure I didnt get an email from her...*mutter*

Yes, but it's a lossy compression.

"it's a sobering form: setting out just how crippled one is on one's worst day."

Focusses the mind wonderfully, and not in a good way *passes over stiff drink or plate of chocolatey goodness, as appropriate*. Blue badge very, very useful though.

I've got my incapacity renewal thing to do - it's very depressing.

I'm [livejournal.com profile] bmovie-ing on Friday and [livejournal.com profile] dfloorlandmine-ing on Saturday as long as I don't get too wasted on Friday.

You don't have to be in receipt of DLA to get a blue badge (although if you get the higher mobility component then you're fairly sure to get one); Liz can apply to be registered as a disabled person with your local authority (usually the definition used is around permanent and substantial disability which needs to be confirmed by a medical practitioner, although recent legislation has broadened the definition a bit) and then you can apply to your local authority blue badge scheme.

I recognize the lyric quote AND the movie in the icon. I can now hear the piano theme playing in MY head. Ah, age, it suits us well.
