Can't sleep for coughing, so
arkady and I are up geeking. I just tripped over these pages:
- Wikipedia:Requested pictures
- Category:Wikipedia requested images
- Commons:Picture requests
- Category:Wikipedia requested photographs
- Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Australia
- Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in the United Kingdom
I can hardly believe we don't have a good photo of deep-fried pizza.
The first list is worth a look over by all of you. e.g. the Anne Frank Tree in Amsterdam, which is due to be cut down soon.
With-permission images are deprecated (much to
secretlondon's past annoyance); we need actual free-content images that anyone can reuse without asking. That is: you take the photo and licence it to the world suitably. (I tend to use PD-self for stuff I really don't give a hoot about [e.g. pictures of technical things] and copyleft-self with GFDL and CC-by-sa for stuff that has some creativity involved. Of course, there's the Uncyclopedia Have A Fucking Field Day licence.) If that seems stupidly complicated, please ask in a comment.
