Disney's Tigger takes stern action against copyright violators.

EPCOT OF BROKEN DREAMS, Orlando, Saturday (U! News) — A Disneyworld worker has been commended after punching a copyright-disrespecting visitor to the theme park. The Lessig family from New Hampshire were at the park in Florida when the valiant defender of creative rights, dressed in his Tigger® armor, dealt the iPod-toting music thief a killer blow to the head.

"iPods are normally considered a protected species in Disneyworld since Steve reverse-Borged us too," said the disembodied computer-hosted soul of Walt Disney, "but when we went over the corpse, we discovered this one had MP3s on it, not just music or video paid for in the proper legal supported manner from iTunes. So they were obviously stolen."

Walt's soul was decanted to a computer in 1966 so as to avoid his ever being declared actually dead, thus enabling him to avoid starting the ticker for copyright in his works to ever, ever run out. He claims the move also enhanced his emotional responses, at least as used for business sense.

The boy's father, Shawn "Fanning" Lessig, caught the incident on video, but was thankfully taken down by a hail of bullets from Piglet® as soon as trademarked and copyrighted Disney characters were imaged on his video camera.

I saw the video of it last night on the news. It was actually quite humorous to watch. Tigger really cold cocked the kid in the face. We just wondered what the kid actually said right before the punch. The sound wasn't good on the video.

Last year, Tigger got into trouble for fondling a girl.

Will Tigger ever learn? Does that suit somehow make Tigger feisty? Or is the myth true that Tiggers are just bouncy, and we should accept him as he is?

Tigger is just a bit feisty and inappropriate, but ultimately lovable. Just keep in mind that he really doesn't need any more speed or MDMA.

Now I want to see an uncyclopaedia article about hypocritical politicians sending their SEN kids to snooty private schools when everyone else has to put up with whatever the state can provide cos said politician ignored every educational specialist while they were education secretary and closed the SEN schools down...

That would probably make me feel better after seething at Ruth Kelly all day.

Up to eight months ago Ms Kelly was responsible for schools, which suggests she chose to reject the state sector while in charge of it.

There were charges of hypocrisy because under Labour there has been a policy of putting children with special learning needs in mainstream schools, which critics say has caused the closure of dozens of special schools.

Ms Kelly, who was herself educated privately at Millfield and Westminster, could have chosen from six schools in her postcode area.

An Evening Standard analysis of official inspection reports shows that 14 of the 20 primary schools in the minister’s postcode provided services for children with special needs that education watchdog Ofsted said were “good”. Six were described as “excellent” or “outstanding”. para 10-13 or so.

The case has the potential to embarrass the Government by highlighting how a minister who has been involved in education policy is dissatisfied with the special needs provision in her area. The Government has faced criticism for closing special schools while seeking to cater for special needs children in mainstream schools, under a policy of encouraging their schooling within the state system where possible.

Her move thrust into the limelight the state's provision of special needs education. Many special schools have been closed and merged with mainstream schools.

Labour was criticised while Ms Kelly was education secretary for closing special schools that cater for children with learning difficulties.

The Government's "inclusion" policy dictates that children with special needs - even severe ones - should be taught in ordinary primaries and secondaries. Ministers deny a deliberate policy to shut special schools. But figures show that since 1997, some 117 have closed, including 26 in 2004-5.

Is that sufficient? Interesting that Cameron who is supporting Kelly in this farce is now calling for a moratorium on closure of special schools. His own special needs child is in a public special school.

Oh and fees for special schools can often be much higher than the £15,000 Kelly is paying for her kid's school. But I bet almost any money her kid's needs aren't seen as warranting education outside of the standard state mainstream school.

This reminds me of a Tigger-oriented link on metaquotes about a month ago. I'll have to look for it later, but the OP wondered if the reason why Tigger was "the only one", was because he had killed off all the other tiggers. The OP envisioned a small rubber tigger hiding in a dark hallway, back pressed against the wall, unspeakably mutilated dead tiggers lying on the ground, trembling as it heard the insane wailing coming nearer and nearer, But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is I'm the only one, oh Iiiiiiiii'm the only ooooooooone......
