Off sick again with a lack of breathing. Gah. Our house is fabulously nice. The old one still needs cleaning and us exiting by Friday, though.

BT excelled themselves today: they installed the ISDN and broke the landline in the process. That they're completely separate lines just scores higher. That they offered me a fix date of next Monday when they're the ones who broke it scored an extra play or something. I hit the roof at the fellow with an Indian accent who said his name was Nathan and it will now apparently be fixed tomorrow.

After this success, I tried connecting to work using the ISDN (so I could claim to have worked from home today). Unfortunately, the Winders driver is gerfuxx0red.

So we (me, [livejournal.com profile] redcountess, [livejournal.com profile] arkady, [livejournal.com profile] eyeliner297) counted our pennies and went to the Pembury Tavern to leech their wifi for a Valentine's meal. Four operating systems around one table. Arkady is presently trying to beat her wifi into behaving.

I'm on call as of Sunday afternoon. I have no idea what I'm doing for my birthday, as Saturday clashes with [livejournal.com profile] fluffymark's. Gah! Anyone who wants to visit Monday night, feel free! Address in this post, and if you can't read that then email me at dgerard@gmail.com.

Good old BT! Nice to know they /still/ fuck up ISDN and phonelines. *numpties* *divots*

I hope the breathing returns to full efficacy soonest and your new house starts to feel like home soon as the memories of the last fade!

Feeling like home is always a good start.

I had a student house with the washing machine in the large bathroom upstairs which was really good (German landlady). Most of the housemates used the downstairs shower, so it was effectively a laundry which I had baths in! I would so put a washing machine in a large bathroom again - the Europeans have the right idea about that!

You need to decide what you're doing so I can organise myself ;)

What were the four operating systems? Windows, MacOS, linux and ?

*confused*

It was in response to "I have no idea what I'm doing for my birthday". I can't help house move tomorrow (I presume that's what you thought I meant) as I've more college lab time - sorry.

Whatever I do this weekend the chances of me having the money to get to Walthamstow on Monday seem really slim (Tuesday is pay day). It doesn't mean I won't, it just doesn't look very probable..
