reddragdivaI am a domestic suburban husband and father-to-be with a stable job and a loving family. I am FORTY. So there. I feel like calling my Dad and going, "Dad! I get it now!"

redcountess and arkady bought me a coupla cool comics and eyeliner297 also signed the card. They are looovely.
Betty Ford Clinic was a good enough birthday drinkies for me. "I'm FORTY on Monday!" was my cry of the evening. I probably won't do more of a drinkies, as I'm on-call until next Sunday. (Fixing b0rken crap on Sunday night reminded me why they pay me to sit around in bed reading LiveJournal by day.)
Liz flew out to Melbourne for a month this morning, with Abi taking her to the airport. I had to escort Arkady to a particularly tricky antenatal appointment, but one at which she got pretty much everything she wanted out of them. I heard my daughter's heartbeat for the first time! (FX: silly Dad face)
Wandered down the local Co-op. The bored underclass tower-block kids hanging around outside are bored rather than malicious. Arkady says they get out of her way too. But perhaps that's just her.
I was missing Liz horribly from about an hour after she left. Melbourne people, send her back later!
Update, midnight: Liz just called from Hong Kong. I missed it because of a work call at the exact same moment. I DESPISE NTL.
