Today I wandered down to Homebase. It's now within walking distance. (I am so doomed.) I got a radiator tap and a satellite extension cable, so we are now running the Sky box in the telly room from the dish connection in the front bedroom.

The contents of [livejournal.com profile] arkady's flat are booked to be moved in early Saturday afternoon. I'll probably break up the record pallet while our rather wonderful removals guys are loading up, and shift them on a weekday evening or next weekend — 440kg is only two or three estate car loads. Then we shall have VINYL!

Work needs the Radium mug. I can feel it in my bones. Mercury would be better though; we used to have mercury under the floorboards and behind the skirting boards, and in the drains, from the experiments people used to do, and still have to have the building checked for mercury vapour.

Massive amount of shopping for home improvement stuff over the last about 4-5 years has taught me taht a Homebase might be handy, but what you REALLY want is a B&Q (and a Wilkes). Or, really, a friendly lumber yard and a lcal ironmonger, but few of us have that luxury.
