  • reddragdiva.co.uk finally has captchas on commenting. So no more 300 spam comments a day. I've used a readable font and think visual-only will do for a photo site ([livejournal.com profile] blarglefiend, how is it for you?). If you run Coppermine and need this yourself, the plugin for 1.4.x is here. It'll be in 1.5, which is expected in the far future.

  • Trams for the traditional.

  • May I recommend Radio Inferno (buy CD), featuring Einsturzende Neubauten and John Peel.

I'm currently sitting up in bed reveling in the luxury of boredom. It's a sunny day and we're all *splat*. I'm on call at six. Yay weekend!

I'm not sure whether I'm more impressed by the lovely locomotive or the Skoda Felicia Police escort. (Which is making me feel a tad guilty as I should be outside replacing the fan-belt on mine, not in here drinking coffee, eating Turkish ersatz wagon wheels and preusing LJ).

Yay Radio Inferno!!! Already have the CD.

Just wanted to add, for everyone's amusement, that it is also archived at UBUWEB (http://www.ubu.com/), in their mp3 archive. Direct link here. (http://www.ubu.com/sound/ammer_radio.html)

They also have Andreas Ammer/FM Einheit's Crashing Aeroplanes, a controversial work involving the final radio transmissions of doomed flights. I have yet to listen to this, so I don't know how good it is.

Currently I'm playing The Smiths as my entire Smiths collection was on a harddrive which has only recently been put back into my desktop... I really need a bigger one as that 80 gig drive is 95% full.

I don't know whether I'm going to continue with the ccna. All the recent ubuntu drama makes me think I'll be a lot happier going back to local government. I missed the last week of term which means I'm technically not registered for the next semester (as I didn't complete) although it's easily fixable.

I've been a good 'crat today and have been dealt with the renaming backlog. I've also dyed my hair purple - but I didn't bleach it first so I dunno what it's going to look like.

I've got some spare disks up to 60GB kicking around that I'll exchange for a beer or two.

Radio Inferno isn't really my kind of music (I'm more Radio 4) but the John Peel bits are rather good.

Ooh. My problem is that I have a small form factor shuttle with only 3 drive bays. I've had to remove my 5 1/2 " DVD rewriter to stick my audigy break out box in. I have 2 3 1/2" drive bays - one had my 160G main drive and one has the 80GB music drive.

I should try and get one of those ide disk -> usb devices. I bought one off ebay but it only found part of my disk.

Like you'd know

I'm having a crisis of confidence and expect fuck loads of shit as a disabled woman in IT. At least I wouldn't get sexist crap to my face in local government. I'd never be 'one of the boys' but maybe things would be okay if I worked for a large enough organisation. I suspect a small IT business would be hell. I don't have an IT degree of course, and no experience, to make things worse.

You can be snarky if you want but as you're not actually a women you won't f'ing see or experience it. As I lack self confidence anyway working a warzone may just make me sick.

IT may pay better but not if the higher paying jobs are closed to me :(

I'm actually pretty good at deal with fuckwittery and local government can be exciting if there's the political will to blow stuff up. Working in your community can be rewarding and as I'm not total shite you shine pretty quickly.

Since there've been a couple times that I've pointed out to you some fuckwittery about how Wikipedia doesn't work, it's only right that I also point out some evidence that it does (http://thespian.livejournal.com/1029769.html).
