Date: 2007-05-11 12:15 pm (UTC)I have a wikipedia question. When surfing wiki I have come across a message listing a number of edits/vandelism that have popped up. Now, I know I am not doing it but I am thinking that the school is broadcasting one IP address and it is the students. I am not sure what you can do but I thought it might be of interest to you. I would think banning the IP from editting would be a good idea.

Second best thing: find such a person (usually the IT person) who will act as a first contact in case of such vandalism who is able to deal swiftly with kids being stupid on the wiki, so they can be contacted by an admin who would otherwise block editing, and can find the kid and have a Little Word with them.
The usual mechanism is to block anonymous editing, with this as the blocking message.
