reddragdiva: (party)

Today I have had two hours' sleep and shown up to work for the first time in two weeks nevertheless. I shall be going home and going more or less straight to bed.

Tomorrow we get a trolley to do something with the huge dead fridge. Good thing we didn't find a home for the small ones ...

I have been cooped up at home for weeks, with one family outing last Sunday. I need to go out and party d00d. What's on Saturday night? Tending into Sunday is ENTIRELY ENCOURAGED.

Saturday is Strawberry Fair in Cambridge (Liz said she might come along - talk to her!)

I believe strawberry fair has actual bands playing that might be worth listening to (eg Rome Burns), for once.
I think I'll show up, especially if I know other people are coming.

"especially if I know other people are coming."

I should be driving up (*if* I can decide what the hell to wear, anyway!)

You have Ja Kid.
Whatever, that kills years of socialising.
Months at least.
Unless you can convince Liz to cluck.

Did I mention: I hate The Wiggles?

I think I'm perfectly capable of looking after my own baby at home whilst Diva goes out socialising, thank you - and quite frankly I'd rather Diva went out socialising than moping at home getting stressed, depressed and stir-crazy. Until Freda reaches 6 weeks old he can't even assist with the occasional night-time feed of expressed milk anyway, so he may as well enjoy himself out and about whilst he can.

I am sure this is a terrible sacrifice. Since you are making an effort to party under duress, make sure to do it in excess, so that your suffering during can be mirrored by your suffering after.

Hye, I know only slightly more than I care about raising spods.

Oh hell no. I will inflict nothing on this earth that I did not do myself. But I think I have seen, mostly, a wide range of parenting.

In the early stages, fathers are always brow-beaten.

Run, perhaps, while you can.

I was not even aware this was possible.

I explained this to Arkady.
I think she does not like me.
I may declare war.

Or I may note care. My comment got screened.
I'll be post it here:
But seriously (I have given up emoticons for Lent), based on my limited experience, a newborn that sleeps through the night is a 1/1000 (or more, I am hardly using a scientific method) roll of the dice (being an ex-gamer, I am using D10) chance - until now

Until now (and it is Red Nose Day here), I had understood it took nigh on a year or more for spogs to slumber more than a few hours without sleep/feed/change.

Being a third-timer, well, you may have a better grasp than me in the day-to-day issues that I simply don't care about, but I really am amazed spods can sleep all night, what with them being creatures of instinct and all.

My cats can barely do that, and they are old.

my mother advises me that when I was a young little thing (vis picture) that I too slept all night without a problem. This is not always the case today however ;-P
