This morning I thought I was awake, then I poured orange juice into my coffee. This works surprisingly well (I bet that's how orange-flavoured tea was invented), but I doubt I'll be switching.

Second day off work in a row with a blocked ear and screeching tinnitus. I seem to be over my cold and have regained my balance. Currently trying nuclear ear drops whose secret ingredient is turpentine (really).

Freda has decided she won't put up with her hundred-quid push chair, demanding to be carried in the sling that was thrown in free with the push chair. I am gaining arms like Popeye doing the Freda workout, which involves holding her and swinging ten pounds of Freda up and down and back and forth for several minutes at a time while her mother gets to do things with two hands instead of one. Freda also still has the cold she got in Wales and gave me.

Life remains domestic. Friday I was too ill to meet up with i_beloved, which sucks. Saturday afternoon was a family dinner (mother, aunt and uncle, cousins) at the Pembury, which would have been much better if my hearing didn't feature very loud industrial noise playing continuously in my left ear. Saturday I was too ill for spikeylady and ciphergoth's housewarming, damn and blast it.

I have every intention of being well enough for bmovie this Friday, theme The Magnificent Seven. You?

I have discovered a really cool way to keep my ears free of gunge. I moved from Mountain View (sea level, also where I work) to Boulder Creek (600 ft, in the San Lorenzo Valley in the Santa Cruz Mountains). My commute to work peaks out at about 2200 feet, so I get lots of ear popping in both directions. Which seems to work a treat at degunging.

I just thought you might like to know that. ;-)
