Well this (in response to your last link) is hysterical:

If you're 18 years or over, you can easily remove Vodafone Content control by going to the "About Content control" link
below for further information and details about how to remove it.

I've asked vodafone how to remove their content control without having a credit card as this is seriously non funny.

They want you to enter a credit card number which they charge a pound to. This then proves that you are an adult and hence the block goes. (but you have to promise to put the block on again if you hand your phone to an under 18..)

Ah yes, I once got that on my Vodafone phone, for an entirely innocent site (I forget which). They claim that they give you one pound of credit in return for charging you, but that's a lie, they never refunded me.
