A baby is the best geek toy ever: a small intelligence that you can watch growing and learning and interact with. Utterly fascinating. The core dumps are messy, of course.

Freda loooves the cats, and you can guess what cats think of babies. They're not keen on having their ears grabbed and pulled on. However, Freda has worked out that when she's having her morning biscuit, she can hold out a bit to Kynaston and he'll come to her. Clever pickle!

She's not crawling yet, but she's worked out she can get where she wants to by rolling around. Also inordinately fond of power cords and Ethernet cables.

We're still waiting for our photos - unless they were posted to a top sekrit filter I'm not on ;)

Nope, he's just being crap at getting them online (as per usual), whilst I'm still getting over the flu and busy fulltime Freda-wrangling and dealing with meltdown of my laptop - everything was thankfully backed up, but I'm currently getting to grips with Photoshop on a Mac which is quite different to GIMP on Ubuntu.

There'll probably be a photo post sometime in the next week though.

Oh yes. William was worse than a puppy for chewing on power cords. It drove me wild with worry.

Feh. The charge is so low it won't do them any serious damage.
I would check out the refund policy though.

Yeah, but ordering a new kid is like 90 seconds work at worst (delivery times suck).
The upgrade might be smarter. ;)

Aye. Ours can reset the harddrive at will. I love watching him spy something across the room he wants, then bum shuffle rapidly over to it using his legs to bat obstacles aside like a tiny snowplough :) He's currently at the ante-verbal stage communication where shrill shouts of "Argh!" demand anything he needs - cute, but a bit irritating. Here's hoping language isn't too far away now...

So you're saying a baby is like a mindstorm robot that poos. Interesting.

Cats are interesting, but at a different level. Once you've worked out that they're basically rodent seeking devices, it all becomes clear...
