The Saturday before Christmas in Walthamstow High Street demands a zombie movie.

My hands still don't work (typing is actually okay, it's lifting anything over a few hundred grams that does for them), but my lungs do. But the house is an utter pit and I can't do anything about it. Bah.

Neo caught a baby mouse, and arkady rescued it!

Not that she's highly experienced in looking after orphaned wild mice or anything. We'll keep it here a few days, just to make sure it doesn't suddenly keel over from shock.

Do you use Kubuntu 7.10 and loathe and despise Dolphin? How to disable it: find any folder in Konqueror, right-click, go to 'Open with ...', pick Internet->Konqueror, tick "Remember application association for this type of file".

Some years ago - about ten years ago, in fact - nik_strychnine came out to a club in one of his gasmasks. This isn't as unusual as all that, but in this case he didn't take it off all night. It had a drinking tube and bottle, so he was pouring booze into that periodically, and he'd brought out a load of filing cards with useful legends - "Hello", "I'm Nik, who are you?", "It's a British Army model S6 respirator", "Because I like wearing gas masks", "Smalltalk", "Fancy a shag?", and the like. And some blank ones, in case they were useful.
