After a day of fighting ancient open sores software, I cursed my way home and was greeted by my beautiful baby daughter, who is better than anything ever and immediately cheered me up. Her mother and stepmother were also most pleased to have someone take her off their hands. Freda is instant proud daddy cheerfulness. I should note the two beers and the codeine did their part in improving my attitude.

Sunday down the Pembury was just what was needed. I promise not to wave Freda at people that much all the time. [livejournal.com profile] pir has an Eee ZOMG CUTE WANT.

Thursday is cheap eBay listings day and it's probably time to clear the camera pile. Old Ixuses and tiny tiny Casio Exilims, still smaller than anything now available at the price! I shall be putting the proceeds towards a Fujifilm F31fd, if I can find one for under £150. They've gone up in price since being replaced by the mediocre F50.

After five and a half years' paid LJ, my account runs out tomorrow. (Please don't pay it, they're still too stupid to get my money.) The server is already being crap for me. Yeah, that'll definitely change my mind.

The eee is just gorgeous. The most exciting rumour I've heard is that the next model is 15 quid more expensive but with a larger screen with touchscreen facility. Worth saving the not-that-many pennies for IMHO.

I think they will keep the keyboard form factor for the forseeable. At the moment the screen does not take up all the lid as you know so they can make the screen bigger while keeping the rest of the form factor.

It's just about at the edge of my usable typing range (recently tested in four hours of train journey) -- I have big hands but fortunately slenderish fingers so I can cope with a small keyboard.

I love mine. I've never really used laptops because they're too large and expensive to carry, and take too long to boot to use casually. Conversely, I've never found a PDA that offered enough features to be worthwhile. The EEEPC sits beautifully in the middle, not only as a laptop, but as a decent home surfing machine, albeit with an external monitor and mouse/keyboard.

And it's small enough to sit on the bedside table at night, and large enough to watch QI on. In bed.

Ah... yes, QI in bed is one of the definite plus points. Hooray for the BBC iplayer.

The server is being crap for me too, and *waves paid account*

Note: I didn't renew it on purpose, somebody did it for me.

I do love my tiny Exilim, I just never manage to use it.

What's the going rate for them now?

It's the way you could put it in the box for a pack of cards and forget about it, yeah.

On the other hand, half of the super-tiny-convenience camera market is rapidly being converted to using phones.

Didn't they stop doing that paid accounts get better server access a couple of years back?

That was the only reason I had a paid account, 'cos I don't use any of the other features so when it went away I stopped giving them my money.
