I've been reacquainting myself with the Australian indie rock I have on vinyl in a box — Moffs (buncha hippies — I particularly recommend Entomology), King Snake Roost (pre-grunge — tinny as hell on headphones, play on speakers with decent bass), X ("At Home With You" is why I picked up a bass). Setting up the front room and hence the turntable is presently blocked on getting the shelves up.

Next week I'm at home on call and the week after I've taken as holiday. Prace bookings now! I'm trying to actually use my Google calendar (the daily alert email reminds me).

Freda does a "grabby hands" thing now whenever she wants anything whatsoever. It's not even conscious. [livejournal.com profile] arkady's first two didn't do this. I'd never heard of it before. Anyone? It's left "Everything Counts" stuck in our heads.

I once directed Jason Isaacs. Lovely man. Like most Scousers he has a very adaptable voice with a wide range.

I wasted him by getting him to do Sean Bean impressions.

Oh, I do that. I walk through the lab touching my thumb and fingers together when I am looking for the scissors. It drives everybody crazy. Your daughter is doomed.

*blink* there are people who don't do that sort of hand gesture when they're looking for scissors?

Some of them ask people "have you seen the scissors?". They are freaks every one of them.

I had a Moffs song on a mix tape once. Tapestry? It was quite good.

!! The Moffs! I loved them. Saw them live at the Old Greek supporting the Triffids in '87 or '88. Awesome.

Gabriel did the grabby hands thing whenever he wanted something, totally reflex. You could see his fingers clenching and unclenching minutes before he made his move to get something.

reservation?
