Freda is now indisputably no longer a baby ... but a toddler. She has enough teeth for her face to have the right shape, she can crawl like lightning and she just tried to follow me up the stairs. She's not even ten months old. This was me at that age. Oh, God.

(Pride! Pride!)

(I just phoned my mum and told her. She reminded me I'd done the same.)

Which even prompted me to remember a few bits from when I read the first time around, but didn't have time to post then...

We demand pics, so as to judge for ourselves.

*blink* People like at my user profile? Why? I hardly even edit.

(Of course, this may change, as I find myself in the "more free time" category.)

I need proper geek dating tips. I know 'leave the flat occasionally' would help.

Here are two small ones

1) Wash and condition and most importantly brush your hair more often
2) Sit up straight and don't droop your shoulders forward (I worry about your back when I see you)

My mum recently told me that I was late in walking as I was so fast in crawling around that I didn't seem to see the need to actually stand up to move ;-P

You may have 'turning off computers' to look forward to. The lead tuxpaint developer has a 14 month old baby boy. He has learnt how to turn off his father's desktop by pressing the power button with his finger!

The only desktop in the living room is my Mac, which is up on my desk out of reach. The other desktops are in the front room, which will be off-limits (with a stairgate to keep it so, as the router and dsl modem are in that room too - along with quite a few musical instruments and her dad's vinyl collection)!

dad's vinyl collection

Oh surely rare Shriekback EPs could do with a smear or two of raspberry jam?

So there's no need to bother with Solaris unless you have military-issue levels of masochism, and all Linux boxes now use the same package manager. Interesting world they've got going there.

I felt like answering 8.1 with "Absolutely nothing!" and then going into the old Frankie tune, but it wouldn't be true.
