Both of us knowing.
Mar. 18th, 2008 11:43 pmI have this laptop booted into Windows specifically to use AutoWikiBrowser. Minefield is precisely the same as on Linux. I'm just amazed how much hotter it runs, though.
It's been a rollercoaster week. Where we once had four cats, we now have one — Tom went missing last year, Neo went missing a month ago and last week a neighbour found Kynaston dead in her back yard. Scuffs on his back claws — he'd clearly been hit by a car and only made it to the first safe yard he could. We presume Tom and Neo went the same way. We'd like to get another kitty for Madam to play with, but not while we live on a main road — that's the third cat I've lost to a main road.
arkady's daughters are coming to stay with us for a week! So I've just had to cancel an evening with
pndc and come home to clear out the spare room. I hope they enjoy their first taste of London, (ugly, cramped, smelly, expensive) and walking several miles around museums!
I'm on call from Friday evening for a week. Visitors welcome, day or evening.

Hmmm.
Looking at the list, even 'We Didn't Start The Fire' doesn't deserve to be on that list.
But thanks for putting Cottonhead Joe in my head.
Really.

My cats are indoor cats, mostly.

Date: 2008-03-19 10:02 am (UTC)After a while you'll forget everything
It was a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling
And you'll see that it's time to move on
I won't do that! No I won't do that!
I know the territory, I've been around
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down
And sooner or later, you'll be screwing around
I won't do that! No I won't do that!

Date: 2008-03-19 01:50 pm (UTC)Diva - so sorry to hear about your cats. :-( I didn't realize you'd lost so many. Definitely sounds like your road is a death trap.
I'd like to claim a point by saying, 'Love is a Battlefield' BTW. ;-)

Date: 2008-03-19 08:06 pm (UTC)(I've also changed all the Windows fonts from Tahoma to Arial, so it looks like my Linux setup too. And occasionally I go to check if there's any Adept updates and go "oh yeah, I'm running Windows." Or wonder where my Windows stuff is in KDE.)
But no, I certainly wouldn't be running Windows without it being a work machine I can't take off Windows.

“Shiny Happy People” 1991
"What other explanation is there for its riff — which sounds like a cellphone ring tone chosen by a sociopath..." - This has me looking for a Shiny Happy People ringtone so I can continue to the That Person with the obnoxious phone (Fragglerock theme was not nearly bad enough).
