SNOW!!!

Thirty seconds of it, and it melted the moment it hit. But SNOW!!!

Thursday was spent wandering about with the visiting [livejournal.com profile] rufus — pub, V&A, hotel, pub, visiting the house. Apparently I got her more liquored up for her birthday than she has been in months. Thursday was also when [livejournal.com profile] arkady's older two daughters arrived for the week. The house is very crowded.

[livejournal.com profile] redcountess has started on Lyrica, which is one of the few drugs ever to do a damn thing even to alleviate the symptoms of fibromyalgia. She is now playing loud metal and headbanging to it. \m/

I am listening to the Michael Hutchence solo album. Not Max Q, this one is dated 1999. The reason you haven't heard of it is that it's appalling shit.

No snow round these Camden -KT parts. Just a sprinkle of G&T.

Lyrica should be the name of a Finnish melodic metal band, so headbanging is quite appropriate, methinks.

Michael who? Ah, him, of course. Sorry, generation gap, I reckon. I was still in those days (1989 rather than 1999( listening to Pink Floyd (I'm old) and Guns 'n R, was listening to Sisters and Siouxsie (but not quite getting it) but not really to Inxs.

Yeah, but dead Australian Idol + Album = $$$$$!

It's not like record labels have shied away from publishing music that's shit (I just turned on the TV to prove my point, some limp-wristed, watered down within an inch of its life emopunk band caleld Plain White Ts were assaulting my ears).

Hell, Tupac has made a career of afterlife records.

I can only assume Mr Hutchence solo album must be better than that, and the late-era INXS.

Southall Black Sisters are legendary. Reading the Guardian article it seems to be based on a June 2007 report by the scarily named "Commission on Integration and Cohesion".

The report says such funding, for particular ethnic or religious groups, fosters a "sense of separation" and is "a hangover from old identity politics".

It's easy to think that this stuff is just for the tabloid headlines, it's not, they are that evil. Remember ethnic minorities are presumed to vote for the Labour Party anyway.
