Anyone got a dead 15" TiBook they can spare the case (or parts thereof) from for [livejournal.com profile] redcountess?

[livejournal.com profile] arkady has finally set up her Wacom tablet (from Christmas 2005) with her Dell laptop! Stylus in right hand, Freda on left arm. First attempt"it's like learning to draw all over again."

It's shockingly quiet without the teenagers around. Arkady says it feels like they're about to pop back in at any moment. I'm enjoying being able to maintain a coherent thought for more than five seconds without it being broken up by shrieking and P!nk records, but it was nice to have them around. We need a bigger house.

Failed to get down the pool today, probably not tomorrow either. Dyeing hair tomorrow, *pint*age with [livejournal.com profile] pndc in the evening, date with Liz Wednesday evening, off to BiCon Thursday morning! By bus. It was cheap!

I need ideas for Rocknerd stories. You got any?

Oooh, so close. I have a dead AlBook, 1.2GHz. Don't think they're anywhere near compatible, though.

I'm looking for a PSU and DC in board for one of those as I've got a dead 1.33GHz AlBook...

I'm not entirely sure what's broken in this one, although I'm thinking it's something with the motherboard, possibly the disk controller, although it could be as trivial as the disk.

In the end, I had about 50% chance of getting it to boot from a firewire disk, and 0% chance of getting it to boot from the internal disk.

You could pull an Everett True and do a story on the complete lack of subsequent UK media coverage...

Dive geek moment but that's not the bends it's a barotrauma, probably a pneumothorax.

"Ppp-pneumothorax is a word that is long. They're just trying to put the punk back into punctured lung" as the song says.

There was the world air-guitar championships recently I believe.

There's a chance they're embolizing too, but it's definitely not the bends.

Treatment? Bat-sized O2 kit?

Putting the bats on O2 would be indicated first aid, but then you'd have to get them to a chamber. Even a one-man recompression chamber could hold a lot of bats, but I'd hate to be the chamber op worrying about all their very sensitive little eardrums during the steep edge (aka crash-dive) of a Table 6 treatment run.
