Good lord, my little fake news blog has been Slashdotted. So far it's running a surprisingly low 600-700 hits an hour. In the meantime, today.com and I are cursing Google's rules on number of words a page is allowed to have before it can have ads on, because the Slashdot story links to the image, not the actual post. Let's see how many sign up for home delivery. I also had one email asking if I could do a CafePress shirt of a high-resolution version. I'll need to get onto that ...

Yesterday was PolyDay. Liz and I got there somewhat after 11am. I lasted about ten minutes in the Poly Activism workshop, feeling my brain being sucked into volunteering for things just as I'm trying to extricate myself from them. I decided to attend the Sit On The Terrace Drinking And Talking Rubbish workshop, which was vastly productive in all sorts of ways. mikz visited from San Francisco and I got to point him out to people as "tall blond Aussie, blue eyes, long hair, like me but louder." Delighted to see notintheseheels and emarkienna for the first time since some Whitbys ago. Especial cheers and *pint*s to friend_of_tofu and alextiefling for valuable advice and assistance in the kicking of bureaucratic arse. And if I named everyone else I saw there it would fill the post. The event was ridiculously crowded, which surprised the organisers 'cos they didn't publicise it at all. It was too crowded for me. The hard part will be finding a replacement for Doggett's next year.

I haven't done the remaining BiCon photos yet — it's been a week from work. Must do at some stage. Freda has a cold too. Kids are walking toxic waste dumps. Life is good otherwise. It's coming up to a full month since I actually read my friends list — I do not love you all any less, I'm just, er, flooded with other crap at present. I'll continue to post and will get back to you shortly.
