Vagabonds last night with the gorgeous [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden. Venue lovely, people lovely, beer lovely if pricey, music largely arse — they so need [livejournal.com profile] d_floorlandmine in the booth — though we did dance. Photos might go up before I die (I still have two nights of BiCon photos to do).

Last night I dreamt I was trapped in a twisty maze of Oracle databases, all different, and I couldn't log out of any of them properly. On green screen terminals, running nothing like any actual version of Oracle. I hardly even use Oracle at work.

(Many years ago I had a work-induced nightmare about the internal structure of Windows NT. That was my cue to quit and go back to my previous job at less pay.)

Today has been quietly sitting around, ripping more of Liz's CDs to FLAC and playing with Freda. She likes Jane's Addiction too.

I'm glad you said that - I've given up on the place for that reason, in spite of the excellent location and beer [1], and was starting to think I was the only one with a problem. Not saying I won't go again, but unless I see a named DJ that looks promising it's likely to be my goth club of last resort.

[1] And company, obviously dahlink. *mwah*

To me the place plays the expected goth hits without experimentation or deviation. This is fine e.g. when playing between sets at WGW, but for a club night that I have to make effort to turn up to, I want a bit .. more.

I'll return if there's no SH5, no Cure tribute nights on at the London Stone, and if I'm not washing my hair that night.

On that subject, are there really two DJs working the London scene going by the monicker "Paul Sti[x/cks]"? That had me confused at first...
