Still alive. Poor. Haven't been out much. Still only skimming LJ. Nice lunch with [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden yesterday, more later.

House rebuilding and slowly demolishing the European Pants Mountain. We ultimately want to fully clear the front room.

I wore my frilly knickers Thursday because of no other clean underwear. A sort of accidental perversion. Lace imprints on my balls. Ow.

"Anklebiter" is not just an expression. Freda actually bites [livejournal.com profile] arkady's ankles.

Ward determined Fuld deserved the beating based on his testimony before the committee.

WHAT? SPEAK UP!

Hmm... I've been saying this for more than 15 years now. Bars where you can only mouth the words "Hi! How are you? Do you want a drink?" are designed with one purpose in mind.

"Some think that people drink instead of talking while others have argued that they drink more because the music creates greater levels of arousal, which then leads to more drinking."

I'd definitely go with the former, remembering a lot of hangovers built on drinking out of boredom 'cause there was nothing else to do.

WHAT?

/One reason I have come to hate crowded places is (crowds aside) I can no longer hear anyone at all. I thought it was just me.
I can remember being able to have conversations at Fruition and The Firm. Actual conversations.

I guess one thing is that it's nice to see my "prejudices" confirmed by an empirical study.

Well, I'm not completely convinced it isn't my hearing being damaged, but I do recall that The Loft was considerably louder than The Firm.

Of course it rarely impacted on my drinking because, frankly, I couldn't afford to.

The Firm had delightful booths in which one could sit and talk. I don't remember anything like that at The Loft.

The sound also had places to escape in The Firm. Not so much in The Loft.

The Loft upstairs had a mix of tables, but I can't recall downstairs. There was the delightful beer garden towards the end.

It's sad to think Interzone was possibly one of the better venues, being so large and all.

FYI
