[livejournal.com profile] nyecamden and [livejournal.com profile] feanelwa came over yesterday and [livejournal.com profile] mirrorshard and [livejournal.com profile] neonchameleon came over today to assist with remolishing the house. This also counted as a date with Nye. They are all undoubtedly the finest humans in the universe and deserving of honours and medals, even if Sam and Francis are clearly insane for attempting to get GÖRM shelves up the stairs without disassembling them first. Tomorrow's valiant assistants are [livejournal.com profile] vatine and [livejournal.com profile] stilkil. The girls arrive Sunday night.

I came home from work in a state of zombie, having consumed several cups of green tea but still wanting to curl up under my desk and sleep. (Got Oracle 8 monitoring working in Nagios, though.) The house is presently a sea of boxes and [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and I are hiding out in [livejournal.com profile] arkady's bed.

I may well be on Radio 4 Iconoclasts next Wednesday, representing Wikipedia against Andrew Keen. (They're still trying to gather all the guests they want.) Should be fun, in a fish-Howitzer-glass jar way.

Update: Pregnant women encouraged to drink up this month. Picture because she appears to be on the front of every newspaper today.

My dates don't usually include scrubbing rusks out of carpet ;-)

There was a bit of news I caught on the radio about a woman being arrested/convicted (not sure which) of possessing a USB memory stick for the purposes of terrorism. Couldn't find it on t'Internet though.

I'd suggest talking about people concerned with the loss of the true meaning of Halloween, but The Onion already did that one. Maybe take it in a different direction and have picketing pagans with "Take Back Samhain!" signs?

What'll be needing done tomorrah, then? Just so I know if I should pack tools or not, see. And the drill bit roll-up from the Covet Dimension, of course.

You counted furniture moving as a date? Doesn't that officially make both of you lesbians or something?

This is what I have always thought, to be honest.

Oh, totally.

Every time I say something emotionally damaged lesbiah-ish, you say "me too". So clearly you are too.

I prefer the term "accurate within a limited scope".

I think that is by far the best description.

What happens when you turn on Oracle 8 monitoring in Nagios? Does it constantly read out, "why the hell are you still running Oracle 8?"

Several cups of green tea is a bad thing to do to your body. No wonder you are often sick. I suggest installing the 'caffeine-tweaked-out sysadmin' MIB in Nagios and monitoring your immune system's error count closely. I imagine it's incrementing rapidly and you're approaching a total system crash.
