The house is still a pit. but it's a much better organised pit. There is room for a teenager or two to fall over. Said teenagers have arrived and their little sister follows them everywhere and headbangs to their "emo" music. They have already taken over the telephone. For the first time in years we have to actually apply thought to landline call plans.

My back hurts like hell and I spent most of today lying on the bed in pain. DailyPic.co.uk has pics cued up for the next week. I've been leaving the NotN very late. Tomorrow I work then I have the rest of this week off.

You're starting to get old when you notice folk younger than you listening to stuff you don't like, but you aren't really old until your own offspring slags off the bands you do like in words startlingly similar to what their grandparents said about the same bands decades before. Unfortunately, I qualify in the latter category now.

Their mother took them shopping in Camden and the younger one showed off the Stargazer makeup she'd bought. We said "ah, cheap makeup for young goths" and she insisted "No! It's not goth makeup! It's emo makeup!" Having a fourteen-year-old arguing subcultures with two middle-aged goths certainly counts as a marker of time passing.
