Substitute date with nyecamden, who is looovely, of a coupla pints at the Pembury, then home to his before ten. The Cornish pastie at the Pembury is a bit dry, but very nice and well worth five quid. Then up at the crack of arse for Nye to take his houseguest out to deal with bureaucrats.

I went into Westfield at lunchtime. It's a fair approximation of Hell on earth, with blinding fluorescent lighting. You could bomb it, but I'm not sure how you'd tell anything had happened.

I am so tired.

Domesticity continues with only minor screaming and bloodshed. arkady and the younger teenager now have electric blue fringes. redcountess looked up the phone bill and saw we'd run up £70 in mobile calls in two weeks. A quiet word to the teenagers was thankfully enough to impress upon them the usefulness and, more importantly, cheapness of Skype. The older teenager immediately started looking for a Saturday job to afford top-ups. They have their father's old gaming PC, which should only need a higher-powered ATX power supply to bring back to life, at least 350W, if someone has one spare. A number of people have offered to offload last year's rig on us, which we will accept with tremendous gratitude if we ever get a spare moment to collect. And even Chavcycle didn't want the iTurd, it being left to the council to take away.

I am still pretty much not reading LiveJournal. I still love you, but you'll need to jump up and down on email to catch my attention.

Oh, I'm looking forward to the Sarah Palin autobiography. Not because I expect it to be a blowout bestseller, but because I want to see the expression on her face when she discovers that it gets a 90 percent return rate, and she has to pay back almost all of that $7 million advance.

One that's GONE. One that's been CRUNCHED UP and is in LANDFILL. Performa 5200, unloved by all. The one thing we managed to use it for was a desk clock, because it was the only box in the house synced to NTP. It barely ran Mozilla 1.3 under Mac OS 9, if you didn't mind waiting FIVE MINUTES for the fucker to render a PAGE.

I don't appear to have cancer. My heart appears to be functioning normally. My internal girly bits are now under investigation for suspicion of mischief.

And I've just had the first birthday that didn't make me cry this millenium!
