Exhaustion is a Freda. Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] arkady went to bell-ringing at the local church. Freda yelled and cried for two hours solid. She worked out her mum must be at the church, too. She needs to learn mum will go away and come back, but I'm already not looking forward to next Wednesday. Today Arkady went to a funeral. Freda threw up on the train three times on the way back. She got a bath, of course.

[livejournal.com profile] redcountess was a star and bought and made dinner. Fabulously nice fresh tagliatelle.

Tomorrow I go for *pint*age for [livejournal.com profile] elevenwords' birthday!

He's a British actor. There was a bit of a kerfuffle when two people on a BBC radio show made obscene prank calls to him. See Wikipedia for details.

Good grief.

For reference, my issues with Catholicism (I am still nominally one, it was important to me to get married in a Catholic church - or to be precise, by a specific Catholic priest, and it's been a huge cultural influence on me) started long before I went to university.

And that was the point I blurted out to [livejournal.com profile] gmh: "Oh shit, no, I can read!"

Clearly there is no hope for me.

Mind you, having now read some of the bishop's comments, I'd have to criticise his theology severely. Not least because he apparently has no knowledge of Vatican II.

Also runner-up in the 'Most Irish Name for a Priest' award at the annual Catholic Oscars (the Popies). Unfortunately Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor has hung on to that one for the last 20 years...

Distraction is the key with separation anxiety, not too much fuss as Arkady leaves and lots of toys and stuff at the ready. My youngest nephew is a little like that.

Unfortunately we had a f***ing cable tv salesman ring the doorbell at 8pm which unsettled her and then the power cable fell out of my laptop and it shut down as the battery's dead, otherwise she would probably have settled nicely watching In The Night Garden. We'll be better prepared next week.
